I'd be afraid to step onto my patio if these flying jewels were bigger. When they zoom by chasing each other, I can feel their wings, and on a number of occasions I've seen one stand on top of the other while giving the one on the ground a beating with that long, sharp bill. Mean but very endearing little imps, and I love sharing our yard with them. Tamron 150-600. Thanks for trying the DLs!

LOL! Donna. I have a Hummingbird feeder on my back porch/deck near the dining room window. Many times I've been on the porch and got scared outta my wits with that muffled helicopter sound going right by me left ear on their way to the feeder.
So glad you were able to capture these beautiful little creatures.

Nice pair Donna. We have two males and a female in our yard.
The males are constantly engaged in aerial warfare. Amazing little creatures.
We are fortunate to have them here all year long.

They are lovely tyrants Donna, excellent downloads. In all of my travels I have yet to see a Hummingbird!

Lovely shots, Donna. I envy you being able to get these shots.

Thanks so much, Kathy. They're not hard to shoot when they're just sitting there. It's when they start darting to and fro and chasing each other. Then they become impossible to capture..or at least for me.

LOL Thanks so much, Tom. Many times I've thought a hornet was about to attack and was so relieved to discover a hummer instead.
