When advice is given, I follow....I'm finding if the photo is not quite what I'm looking for... move around it,get in closer and shoot up will usually get me what I am seeing in my mind...today was trying to capture a frog while in the kayak with my grandson and there was a slight breeze that kept "floating" the kayak away...I had to paddle up, around and past that frog 6 times to get a few, but I did get two really good captures that I will be printing for my grandson's bedroom....

Well done Vicki..He'll enjoy these..

yourself. Rest and stay strong will be a long road ahead

I know it will Simon, I'm hoping he won't be in Rehab as long this time as he was with The vascular surgery he had back in March...I'd better look after myself If I don't I'll be in no shape to Help care for Him..lol

Thank you! When he saw them on the laptop he asked if I could make them for his wall...his room has those wall decals making his room look like a pond (kiddie character style), by chance I know someone who does vinyl work, so since he is getting older I'm thinking maybe capturing some photos of cat tails, and adding some of my water lily captures and these two of the frogs and creating a new set of decals for his room, you know not so babyish, maybe include the heron and a kayaker. Plus it will be nice to take him to see the process...it's really exciting showing him photography...the adventure of going someplace new, capturing the perfect photo, bringing him home and showing him how to upload and then watching his face as he views them on the monitor...some he gets excited, some not so much so; but with allowing him his own camera (he prefers shooting video mode) it has really kept his interest and it is nice having something in common to share with him plus it gives me an opportunity to expose him to different things...kayaking, hiking, strolling through a small town, even just exploring the pond across the road and a bonus...I also get to see things through the eyes of a child...the perspective is very enlightening...

They still see the things we tend to overlook, it would be very refreshing to be able to see things that way again..

OK work is driving me crazy, changing my schedule again this week putting me on dayshift some days, 2nd (my regular shift) on others; I don't know if I'm coming or going; so here is a group comment...thank you to all with the kind words and the advice that I really appreciate...everyone here is a mentor for me, whether it is actual advice and tips or posting of your own captures...and I must say all these sizzling summer photographs are fabulous...they teach me much...subject matter, composition, lighting, etc. Thank you! The words of encouragement are telling me I'm doing it correctly and I love the honesty when criticism is expressed...I am using UHH challenges as my assignments combining them with different techniques or rule of the day...who needs to pay for a photography course when I have an entire university full of professors right here at UHH. Again Thank You! for making me feel so welcome within the UHH family!
