Hi,
For me number one is by far the best. If I had to criticise I would definately increase the contrast in the butterflies themselves, just a little more 'punch' and they would leap out at you. Pity you didn't tick the download box. Did you use Layers, and if so, using the eraser tool you would have brought the bugs back to what I'm sure would have been an image with much more contrast. The composition is just about as good as it gets. All together a well composed and pleasing shot, and one to be very proud of ! Norman

Thanks for the critique! I will increase the contrast. The image was processed through Smart Photo Editor! The program did all the work for thr effects. I crop and sharpen first in Elements 7

Critique Hell!!! Those shots stand out by themselves. If I were you, I would check out:
www.ImageWizards.net They print on Aluminum. Your pictures would take on a 3D look. Send for their samples you won't be disappointed.
All are great but 1 is really special.

Thanks for the info and .......critique!
Here is the first one with more contrast as Normac recommended.
Nice artistic touch. I don't usually like the "Artsy Fartsy" stuff but those look like they could have been ink drawings. Very nice.........

If I may ask what program in Smart Photo Editor did you use?? I use that program quite sparingly but would love to get into that effect if you don't mind sharing.......
Quite pastoral, especially #1 original. There exists millions of swallowtail butterfly photos. I like the unique feeling of #1, like an illustration from a Victorian era children's storybook.
(And I know a thing or two about butterfly photos for publication & illustration.)
That first picture in particular is really fine. Wish I had taken it.
I really like these, well done
Like the first photo the best
