I should have been more specific. I'm talking about the Utube video link on page 2 of this thread posted by Cykdelik. Worth the time.

Thank you Chief. I had not seen that video but did just watch it. You are correct. It definitely was worth the time to see. I found the speakers somewhat, No, a lot monotonish but interesting. It is not easy to watch but definitely interesting. I found my thoughts agreeing with the video all the way through. Yes the climate is changing. No there is nothing man can do to change the climate. I have yet to hear a solid argument on what man will do to change what Mother Earth plans for us. Yet the Liberal Democrats will continue to tell us without let up how it is us who are going to ruin the earth's atmosphere, cause the planet to be unfit for animals to live here and so on. That as you know is their agenda and God forbid that they change it and come to some sort of common sense reasoning. They will stick to that agenda right up until the year 2100 and then just let it all die down since nothing earth shattering will have happened. Somehow too it will be the fault of Conservatives when they tell us it was us all the while complaining about G****l W*****g.

I'm on board with addressing the scientific data with both debate and planning, and a LOT of that work has been done by folks with WAY more date and WAY more training than either you or I.

My biggest concern on this front is not the temperatures. It's the imminent threat of an uninformed, overreaction that winds up crippling the global economy, or at least the US economy. One need only listen to 10 minutes of either of the Democrat debates to hear promise upon policy upon plan... all of which are 100% guaranteed to increase national debt, increase taxation, decrease private ownership of business and of the profit motive and to stagnate the economy. Once the economy tanks, the need for social welfare will skyrocket, further increasing government's reach and size, and further increasing debt and taxation, and further reducing the free market and private business / home ownership.

All of that will occur without addressing the climate, and the left have even bigger and worse plans for that. Given a chance to enact all the idiocy like 15 min wage, free college, nationalized medicine (for i******s too), guranteed income, and all the rest, the US will be uninhabitable and in a perpetual cycle of warlord faction battles long before it's too hot to grow concord grapes in SoCo.

There's a fairly good, but brief article in Time on the current warming trend:

I have health issues and for the last few days, I've made my trips outside as infrequent as possible. For the last few years, I've had some
tough conversations with very conservative friends about g****l w*****g. Several have insisted that its BS, but I tend to read the scientific reports. We currently have an administration that doesn't believe it, but the evidence is pretty much damning. This article
only hits a few points. My concern is for my children and grandchildren. How will they live when the current heatwave becomes the norm and not an aberration?

We have an interesting story about our pool. Shortly after moving into our home with a nice pool, we called around for a pool servicing company. While talking to one of the techs we explained where we live and a little about what we know about the pool. He immediately claimed that he knows all about our locally famous pool, then went on to tell us that in 1960 Hugh Hefner had it installed for his photographer who lived here then. All of the pool techs fought over who would be servicing it on the weekends when the shoots took place.

We met with some of our neighbors who had stories about having to tie their boys up to keep them away, and the weekly visits from the minister. We could only imagine the scene ...

That totally explains why the dryer was in the basement at the bottom of the stairs while the washer was at the other end.

I've made the comment before that consensus does not equate with t***h. The Flat-Earthers have a consensus. However, I think the comedy group "Kids in the Hall" had a funnier take on the consensus, and referring to a consensus as authority.

Honestly I don't recall. I do know about and agree with you about the doom and gloom predictions that were supposed to have taken place but have not.

I never recall the date but there was a news article back around 1928 or a little later saying that global freezing would take place and everyone should start worrying. Of course that never happened either.

I would have to look it up but I recall a number of climate scientists who once went along with the g****l w*****g crisis who have since recanted saying they went along with the theories because if they did not they would not receive funding for their work.

Personally I believe in the g****l w*****g theory and don't know of anybody who does not believe the earth is warming. The problem/difference between me and the Liberal version is the Liberals insist that if we all donate to some huge world wide fund the money will be put to good use to save the planet. I have read that more CO2 is the problem. But then I just read that one volcano that erupted recently put more CO2 into the atmosphere than all humans combined since the dawn of cavemen.

I don't think I am going to worry a whole lot about the sky falling just yet.

So, according to NASA, the gases in Earth's atmosphere include:

Nitrogen — 78 percent
Oxygen — 21 percent
Argon — 0.93 percent
Carbon dioxide — 0.04 percent
Trace amounts of neon, helium, methane, krypton and hydrogen, as well as water vapor

To The assumption of the science-avoiding f*****t progressive movement is that an increase in CO2 caused an increase in global temperature.

Somehow, using the useful tool of the IPCC they preferred to downplay the much greater volume and importance of water vapor as a greenhouse gas, thus allowing them to ignore it it because while humans produce water vapor, the amount is insignificant relative to the total atmospheric volume.

In short, they have fixated on the CO2, .0004 of the atmosphere, because it was the most practical way to attack the first world economies and try to get ungodly pools of money put under their control.

Here is how Goremon math works: 65/11,994=97%.

Here is how actual science works: 65/11,994=0.5%.

Since our l*****t friends have no clue where the 97% number came from, and obviously no desire to research it, I ... LWW ... will shine the harsh light of t***h on Goremon mythology yet again.

11,994 papers were researched.

32.6% endorsed MMGW.

66.4% endorsed no opinion.

0.7% rejected it.

0.3% stated the cause was unknown.

Only in Goremonville does 32.6% equate to 97%.

It gets better ... when the 32.6% is analyzed, only 65 of 11,944 actually endorsed it specifically.
