I agree that this processing has probably gone beyond photography into the realm of art; that said, I very much like what you have done here. Good work.

I used a photograph but in my mind it no longer is a photograph, to me it has become a form of art.

I use the word "Image" when I create something that is not a photograph.

Please tell me with honesty that this not a photo of one of the classic painters. This photo is far too beautiful for mere photography with "pushed" post-processing. Obviously, it is a cloaked expression of colored/white love and is a protest against anti-miscegenation laws.

Jim-Pops, Simplicity of props and having a visual analysis of the end goal is what all photographers should learn/cultivate. I have quit watching Topaz hour-long webinars in which the presenter sort of wanders to the end of the hour vs saying at the offset... "here is my goal and end result and here step-wise is how I achieved it." If you, Jim-Pops, gave a seminar for Topaz, then I would watch the simple subjects grow into this superb painting.
Please tell me with honesty that this not a photo ... (show quote)

Thanks for expressing your thoughts Donald. I was not intending to copy any of the classic painters style. I researched and saw a background full of color that I thought would work with my onions and purchased it. Then did the magic of masking, blending and texturizing. Was so pleased with your reaction to my final results.

Thanks so much JayMatt. I will be printing this on glass for mounting and then donating it for a silent auction being held for a local charity. Hope I can get a decent price for the charity.

Thanks Howard. I think I will go with Cany's, "Digitally Manipulated Image". I think it fits.

I don't much care for onions but I absolutely love your onion art! It is so rich and luxurious! Beautiful work!

Have you tried a vidalia onion? They are nice and juicy and mild. Great sliced and eaten yaw with a hamburger. Really!!!

Funny you should ask. I have one on the kitchen counter and trying to put something together using it as the main attraction.🤔

They are also very good with a chuck roast, potatoes, and carrots cooked slowly on the stove top for about 4 hours at a low boil. I'm making myself hungry!!

I like the image. Onions would not be my choice for a still life subject, but your treatment of the entire theme in post is both creative and appealing. Shows an inner vision that I don't have.
