Pushed the Onions to Another Dimension

Went back to my onion and added a strong colorful texture layer and blended keeping most of it out of the onions using a mask. Then took my base picture to Topaz Impression and added the brush strokes to the onions. Merged the files then back to Topaz and added more of the same brush strokes to the entire picture.

I used a photograph but in my mind it no longer is a photograph, to me it has become a form of art. I've found that seasoned photographers are usually not fond of a picture being pushed to this level.

I like the onions with the background. Sometimes straight photography gets a little redundant and I like, as you nicely did here, pushing it to the next level. Bev

It works very well for me.
What is a "seasoned" photographer?

I don't much care for onions but I absolutely love your onion art! It is so rich and luxurious! Beautiful work!

Thank you for your input Bev. I have found that my flower shots have become redundant too and need to try something else creating additional interest.🤔

I loved your onions, true photographic Art. This? Not so much. It is superficial paint, fake painting. Real painting is much more concerned about the subtleties (emotional and mental) of strokes, and better integration of all areas.

Still, I appreciate your stepping out.

Good question. I call a seasoned photographer someone that has been taking pictures for several years and his sole income is from pictures he has sold, or a retired photographer that made his living taking and selling pictures.

Thanks - I have been around for a while, but not making a living out of it.

Well, at least in my presentation you don't have to smell them.🤣
Thanks for commenting Carol.

Maybe I should have said Pro Photographer not Seasond. I have a couple of pros that are my mentors and I know they would not like this shot. 😏

I love what you did with this. Right up my alley and I consider it photographic art. I like that you held back on the onions and didn't abstract them as much as the background.
