Thanks to those of you who made useful suggestions. A *brief* look through UHH would show that I have recently posted dozens of images taken with my digital Nikons... I am interested in trying film again precisely because it yields qualitatively different results than those from any digital camera. Every artist chooses his or her own tools.

In the (ancient) past I processed and printed my own B&W, 35mm and 6x7, and printed color from sides (Cibachrome). I have neither the space nor the inclination to do those things anymore.

I also scanned tens of thousands of Kodachrome slides using a Nikon scanner (so ancient that it had a SCSI interface). Sadly this met its demise shortly after the slide scanning was complete.
