Wow, Frank! Outstanding work, love that Milky Way.

Thank you Mike ... always a pleasure to hear from you ... & I was pretty happy with that Milky Way ... 'course, having the Morman Barn in the foreground makes it special to me. That was a magical place.

Thanks ... I've worked on them since ... enjoy that kind of photography although there is a more limited use for it.

This is another in a series of posts using photos from a recent 6+ week trip I took around the Western US & Canada, with a college buddy Chuck & my Australian Shepherd Gem, aka "the Mutt." I'd like to thank all who have looked at the prior posts & commented.

This post picks up where the last one left off ... in the Grand Teton's Nat'l Park for half of the photos & then moves to Yellowstone Nat'l Park. There was so much to see at Yellowstone, that this will be the 1st of 2 posts covering Yellowstone. Given the enjoyment I get from wildlife, Yellowstone was the most exciting park for me of all we visited & I'll finish it in the next post.

The photos from The Grand Tetons are varied ... from wildlife to scenic to 1 night sky. The 1st batch of Yellowstone photos are a mix of wildlife & scenic.

I used a Canon 5d Mk IV & EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for the Sunset, Buffalo Dust Bath, Mammoth Springs & Lower Falls. I used a Canon 5d IV with Sigma 24mm 1:1.4 DG for the Mormon Barn night shot. I used a Canon 6d with EF 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM for What are you Lookin' at & the Buffalo with Calf. I used a Canon 7d Mk II with EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM for the Grizzlies. And I used a Canon 7d II with EF 500mm F/4L IS USM for the Adolescent Bald Eagle landing.

I hope you enjoy them.

Frank

I think this is your best set so far Frank. We've only been to Yellowstone once (in 2012) and the most unexpected "big thing" was the Grand Canyon of The Yellowstone, which you've captured well. I'm behind on the forum, as we got back Friday night from 17 days in Hawaii, preceded by a day at home and 4 days in Sisters/Bend Oregon before then.

Thanks DJ for the visit & comments. Much appreciated. While I've enjoyed all the Nat'l Parks immensely, Yellowstone is my favorite & you're right about the impact of seeing the falls. While I'll let viewers decide which images are the best, I believe the next set was my most favorite ... even though there were a couple that were noisy. Those were the Grizzly & Wolf taken as the light was fading. I almost threw them away due to noise, but my college buddy convinced me of the error of my ways, so I kept them ... thankfully ... they've become one of the most memorable times of the entire trip. Sounds like you've had a terrific trip ... 17 days in Hawaii wouldn't be hard to take & years ago, I worked in Oregon & found it to be a wonderful place. Thanks for stopping by & for the comments. Best to you.
