The history of political partys is not as simple as the right wing would like you to believe;

"Not to be confused with the current Democratic Party or the Republican Party of the United States.

The Democratic-Republican Party (formally called the Republican Party) was an American political party formed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison around 1792 to oppose the centralizing policies of the new Federalist Party run by Alexander Hamilton, who was Secretary of the Treasury and chief architect of George Washington's administration.

From 1801 to 1825, the new party controlled the presidency and Congress as well as most states during the First Party System. It began in 1791 as one faction in Congress and included many politicians who had been opposed to the new constitution.

They called themselves Republicans after their political philosophy, republicanism. They distrusted the Federalist tendency to centralize and loosely interpret the Constitution, believing these policies were signs of monarchism and anti-republican values.

The party splintered in 1824, with the faction loyal to Andrew Jackson coalescing into the Jacksonian movement (which would soon acquire the name Democratic Party), the faction led by John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay forming the National Republican Party."

Democratic defectors, known as the “Dixiecrats,” started a switch to the Republican party in a movement that was later fueled by a so-called "Southern strategy.

The night that Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, his special assistant Bill Moyers was surprised to find the president looking melancholy in his bedroom.

Moyers later wrote that when he asked what was wrong, Johnson replied, “I think we just delivered the South to the Republican party for a long time to come.”

It may seem a crude remark to make after such a momentous occasion, but it was also an accurate prediction.

To understand some of the reasons the South went from a largely Democratic region to a primarily Republican area today, just follow the decades of debate over racial issues in the United States.



Up until the post-World War II period, the party’s hold on the region was so entrenched that Southern politicians usually couldn’t get elected unless they were Democrats.

But when President Harry S. Truman, a Democratic Southerner, introduced a pro-civil rights platform at the party’s 1948 convention, a faction walked out.

These defectors, known as the “Dixiecrats,” held a separate convention in Birmingham, Alabama. There, they nominated South Carolina Governor Strom Thurmond, a staunch opposer of civil rights, to run for president on their “States’ Rights” ticket.

The r********ns issue is much more complex than your little conservative mind can grasp.
For instance: We not only ens***ed Black people but we ens***ed Native Americans. Do they get r********ns too?
Second, What r********ns are we speaking of? Do we just give everyone a check? Probably not.
How do we decide who gets r********ns? If your history goes back to a Black S***e and a White S***e Owner, do we give you half?
Now, admittedly there is a wealth gap between W****s whose family have been in the country since the 1860s and B****s who have also been in the country that long.
You see Farmboy, it's all too complex for the average Republican so why don't you wait and let the more intelligent people work on a plan as to what and how before you give your knee jerk reaction.
By the way, just so you understand. If we don't settle on r********ns, you still won't be getting any money from the government.
So in answer to your rather dumbed down question. I don't know if I support it or not and I won't know until I have more information.

Name any 3 Dixicrats that left the Democrat party for the GOP. Name ANY northern segregationists who switched parties. There aren't any beyond Thurmond. There were 10 000 dixicrats in local state and national seats and virtually all died Democrats.

Let’s research all of history to give r********ns to everyone who was wronged throughout the years. Egypt should pay r********ns to the Jews for holding them as s***es. Certainly every Japanese family on earth for the internment camps. How about Germans and Japanese paying r********ns for starting WW2, the Germans for WW1 and so on. Of course b****s should pay b****s because b****s kept and sold s***es in 1860. Then there r********ns to every white from b****s for the soldiers who died freeing the s***es.

OR we could forget this BS and FINALLY get off the black s***ery issue that has plagued America for 150 years now. Nobody alive was a s***e or kept s***es. Isn’t it time to move on. No black person today can claim s***ery kept him down.
