I feel getting rid of the halo (it looked natural to me anyway) reducing the saturation and attempting to get rid of the noise in the barn in no way improves your original shot.
Thanks Keni, love the shot and the noise makes it. The body language of all the people is priceless and tells the whole story, no words necessary.

I really like this photo and the mood it shows both in the people and the gloomy weather. The exposure is first rate as is the composition. Well done.

Thank Dennis! It was a quick grab the camera and shoot so I'm very happy it turned out well.

Don't you wish they would all turn out so well? Unfortunately there seems be be a bit of luck involved and Lady Luck is not always with us.

My family was celebrating Fathers Day at my brother's when a huge thunder storm rolled in and chased us all into the barn. I didn't have my tripod with me and the kids were pretty much unstoppable so I knew I had to keep my shutter speed up. Although I ended up with quite a bit of noise I think it works for this shot. I think pulling out any more noise would have not let you see the rain as well. I would like to hear your thoughts on it.
The light from the barn contrasts interestingly with the gloom outside. This works.

Great job, Kenny!
You caught the very essence of the whole story!

The noise is just about perfect. Also, I
like the randomness/informality of the
moment-in-time framed there. It's a
nicely relaxed and sustained moment,
rather than a split second time freeze.
Thank you for your photo realist image.
Cuz we are azzdeep sunset landscapes,
flowers shot at f/1.4 and blurry running
water. Not that I'd wanna ban that stuff
.... but I'd assign each of those its own
subforum and then I'd never visit them.
So thanks again so verrrry much ;-)

I am very glad you liked it. I enjoy many types of photography including the ones you don't appear to care for. Thankfully we all can choose whether or not to respond to the types of photographs we like and pass over the ones we don't. I am very happy I subscribed to FYC. It opened my eyes to the artistic side of photography and it has actually helped me improve as you called my "photo realist" images. What an incredibly boring world it would be if we all only liked the same things. Thank you for commenting.
