You will need a pair of red/cyan anaglyph glasses to view an anaglyph image. It can be downloaded and viewed at any size. (Only the anaglyph version posted here)
This image shows what happens when two images are properly aligned horizontally but their horizontal separation is then altered to shift the cyan image to the right.
Here is the image aligned normally.

Wow, interesting.
It turned out to be a learning experience for me.
I was surprised this morning that
3D - Sculpture - ShelterSTACK worked so I had to find out why.
What I found might explain why some cross eyed pairs seem to exhibit a hint of 3D, even when they are created illogically during a 2D-3D conversion.
Nevertheless, an anaglyph version of an improperly created conversion will always reveal the truth.
The normal version is much easier and pleasing to look at. I had to really concentrate to see the 3D effect on the other one with it all proceeding toward you from the screen and nothing away from you past the screen. I think the mind uses the smallness of distant objects to give an illusion of the small objects being far away. On my misaligned one I put a frame around it with no displacement and it became clearer.
