It's always a good thing when somebody like yourself is willing to dig down to find the potential in places like this.

#2 is breathtaking! The lighting contrasts: softly glowing against dark; and the gossamer threads of water against the strong forms of rocks - pure art.

Thank you, Linda. I tried to enhance the effect in PS using various filters and textures; but, so far, I like the version that I posted best. I think I was lucky to get just the right shutter speed. There is some sense of movement, which gives the photo a painterly feel to me. So, for now, I'll just stick with the original that I posted.

Nice work on these, Eric. The second and fourth are excellent.

Thank you. I like those very much myself.

Very nice series. I particularly like #2. The Jersey shore just has endless opportunities to create a good image.
Enjoy your summer off.

You are right. I've been at that location before; but, even if you are in the same place, every day at the ocean is a bit different. Thanks for your comment.

I've never been fond of "silky" water (or whatever one calls it these days. I like the colors of the first one, but the raw energy of the last one.

I agree with you. I am, however, a fan of long exposure. It is a tough thing to do right. Get it wrong and it seems over-done and almost a cliche. I like that last photo in black and whit. You are right that it gives a good sense of the raw power of the ocean. Long lens helped get that across. Thanks.

I like a picture when it tells its own story. #2 is doing that so well. The power of the waves in this timed exposure show the raw power better than I have ever seen it before. Absolutely a Great Magnificent picture. Show it everywhere you can I think you will get exciting feedback.

Thank you for that compliment. It means a lot to me knowing how excellent your own work is. I really appreciate the comment. Thank you.

If I am picking my favorite, its #3.

I really like that photo. I understand that some don't like the silky water effect; but I think it works pretty well with this photo. Thank you for your input. Much appreciated.

I like all of them but #5 is my favorite. I expect to see Jim Cantore out on the pier showing us the power of the surf.

I like all the spray in that black and white image. The foreshortening of the lens makes it look like I was getting soaked, even though that was not the case.
