So if I didn't emphasize while, you would have left it alone?
Waist time remembering the past? I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
That was something I happened to remember because it looked so strange at the time.
Not defensive, just tit-for tat maybe?
Have a great day.

They are cable clips/strain reliefs. Check your manual again.

There is a threaded hole in the camera next to the USB3 jack. The hole by the HDMI jack is to stabilize the cable holder.

Thanks. From an image of the camera I found it kinda looked like maybe a little ear/microphone phone plug.

But please do enlighten me. Why would you have cables plugged into you camera when taking photos?

When the camera's on a tripod and connected to an external monitor and/or computer during the shoot. I gather that's not unusual in product photography, and perhaps other fields where the image is going to end up in a high-end printed form.

Remarkable!!! I now know what use there is for the endless flood of pointless unboxing videos.

Called "Tethered Photography". Good introduction at: https://www.tethertools.com/plugging-in/what-is-tethered-photography/ .
Trivia: The Nikon D850 HDMI jack is for an HDMI Type C mini-pin plug, not the standard size on TVs. Adapter cables are cheap.

Used when shooting teathered so if the cable gets pulled you won’t stress the receptacle on the camera.

It to help keep the HDMI and USB cable plugs in the camera's jacks. One part screws into the camera. The other goes on the the cable(s), which makes it easier for temporary removal.

OMG that looks like the business end of a car battery. The cable looks as if it goes to an electric chair.

I never do this personally but I am guessing perhaps when hooking the camera up to a monitor.

Couldn't even find it with Google image Search. Must be an oddball.

I shoot with Canon. It has something similar. When you attach cables to the port such as a USB cable, you thread the cable using this wire harness to protect the cable from fraying and protecting the port on the camera body.

It's a USB cable retainer to help in preventing damage to to inferior, poor quality USB port on camera.
