Welcome to the forum. My best friend in high school (54-57) had a 40 Merc coupe. I had a 47 Ford Coupe. We rocked and rolled in both cars during that period. I also did the Navy Photo School Pensacola in 1958. Had a great tour and now serving on the USS Midway Museum as a volunteer. Thank you for your service. Enjoy the ride in this great forum!

Thanks, I went to the Intrepid Museum in NY a couple of years ago. I had done a short cruise TAD with the Combat Camera Group on the Intrepid in "58 and had a bunch of Kodachrome slides I took of flight ops. So I scanned them and gave them to the museum. They treated us like royalty. i guess the Midway is much like that. I was in Panama City filming after Hurricane Michael last year. Pensacola got it too but not as bad. It was like a war zone. Jere
Welcome. Great car. My dad had a post-war Merc sedan and what I remember most about it is that it had a floor mounted button to change radio stations (AM of course).
Cool memories with cars. I haven't seen that floor button on any of them, but I'll bet it was fun.
Not a bad looking Cobra also. One of my buddies has one, not a real one though. Still a lot of fun.
Mine is only a picture I got off the internet, I could never afford a real Cobra, even though I wouldn't mind a Cobra kit car, but at my age I would never to get out of it, my legs are not what they use to be, thanks.
