Been away for a few weeks cruising off of and into the fjords and waterfalls of Norway and visiting in Denmark. Fantastic scenery, terrific people interesting museums and plenty to do. Internet is terrible, slow and often just not available. Here are some pictures of our first port of call , Oslo, Norway. The Vigeland Sculpture garden is the work on just one man and it is amazing. At the Viking Ship Museum it is hard to imagine how these hardy people went so far on such small ships on a vast ocean. The Kon Tiki museum its another head scratcher as to how someone who believed
lived up to his expectations.

I enjoyed being aboard a longboat that sailed from Norway to Lake Erie at a Tall Ships Fest.
I read the book “Kon Tiki” many, many years ago. Left me in awe. Thanks for letting me see the real thing.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Nice set.
Interesting set. Well done.
Your post inspired a little research. The Draken Harald Hårfagre (the largest replica Viking Ship) and the Mayflower have approximately the same dimensions: 100’ length, 25’ beam. Draft 8’ and 13’ respectively, displacement 200 tons and 95 tons. Oars versus sails. Complement: 100 versus 100 passengers and 30 crew.

I would like to visit that part of the world. I have never been further than the Baltic coast of Germany.

That's the ship I enjoyed touring at the Tall ships Fest.
Thanks for sharing your travels. Very nice.
