First of all I believe at 69 I am somewhere near the middle of the pack age wise. Beginning about 6 months age almost all of my doctors have started answer to my question with, "At your age...". I don't feel old, but I also realize parts (knees, hip, shoulder) are starting to wear. Isn't there a better way to say, "Your becoming an old geezer." On the other hand entering "geezerhood" has an advantage, I can do most anything I want and it will be blown off with, "He's just an old geezer", while I'm going"GOT CHA!!"

Ok, the end.

One of the greatest shocks in my life was when the guy in the coffee shop gave me a senior discount - that I hadn't asked for!!

I will be joining you at age 69 the first week in August. Misery is when you ask for a senior discount and they don't "card" you.

Hell, I'm 87 next October. Don't listen to the Doctors, they'll make you sick. My knees are working fine, play darts 4 times a week, go dancing each Saturday night, after our group has a great meal. I exorcize a little, but stay active. Don't get overweight, smoke, drink too much (I love a beer) and you'll make it.
Keep a great outlook on life, be satisfied with what you have.

I'll be 77 in September and aside from hearing loss, vision problems, a heart murmur, and extremely painful lower back, I'm in great shape.

Get a cane and you can get away with anything! At 83, I use mine all the time.

I have philosophy: In old age we have much wisdom. But no one gives a S....t, because the younger gen's know everything now, & don't ask.

Yeah, just like we knew it all also when we were their age. And dont deny it, you know its so!😉

I'm 66. I remember my grandfather at 66. I am NOT his 66. He shuffled as he walked, could do light work in the garden. In the past few months, I have installed doors, light fixtures, and other projects. Yesterday I had a routine appointment, the Dr. said, "Fu*k, we are doing good!" (He's a year older than I am--his son is half my age and I'm in better shape). "He asked, what's on the agenda for the rest of the day?" I told him, "Waking the dog 2 miles, powerwash some siding and trim in prep to paint, then cut a slot across my driveway for the invisible fence I'm going to install for my dog." Today, I'm using a pick to cut a trench across the lower level driveway for the fence wire to be strung...before I go to a sales appointment. Yep, still working.

No, my 66 is not my grandfather's 66. Even after a heart attack (mild, stent put in), quadruple bypass surgery, and nearly succumbing to sepsis after being infected with Necrotizing Fasciitis.

I was a railroad mechanic by trade, when things didn’t work we fixed them.
As I aged I started suffering with major joint pain so in my 60’s I had a complete overhaul, before that I had never seen the inside of an operating room.
My list of surgeries:
1- carpal tunnel left and right.
2- total right hip replacement
3- left and right knee total replacement, both on same day!
4- total left hip replacement.
5- left eye cataract surgery.
6- right eye cataract surgery.
I have no regrets and I feel and get around like a young man again! I’ll be 74 in August, I play golf without a cart and work out at the gym.
Why live in pain when you can have it fixed! Good luck if you decide to go my route.

I don't think about age. In some ways, I have been 40 years old ever since I was 4 years old. In other ways, I will be 18 forever, even if I live to 200.
