Harle, Get Irfanview. It's free and is all you need. Hit "O" to find the image and load. Shft U is auto color correct. Shft S is sharpen, S is save. You can do rotation corrections, resize, crop, clean and are easy to find in the image menu.
Good luck

I opened in Camera RAW in Photoshop Elements and warmed it up a bit. It took longer to load PSE than to warm up the photo. I didn't change anything else, only the white balance.

Hi All
On a recent cruise i made the mistake of shooting with the incandescent filter instead daylight. What can I do to correct this if possible? I shoot in JPEG large fine only.

Why would you use a color filter on a digital camera auto white balance?????

I was taking photos with no flash and incandescent light so I changed the white balance in the camera to incandescent

In that case it's a total mystery how it came out blue. Somehow, something was set incorrectly.

You have many good suggestions... mine would be to convert it to monochrome. Getting this back to what your eye saw is a maybe just can't get there from here. I did this with a slight brown tint. anyway, this is the way I would preserve the memory.

No mystery. Think about it: That’s exactly what would happen in daylight if the camera’s white balance was set to incandescent.

What is the mystery? The OP was shooting under incandescent lighting with no flash so he set it for incandescent white balance. When he made the shots in daylight he forgot to change it back to daylight white balance.

Great idea. I would also try sepia.

Two mouse clicks in Photoshop ... Auto tone and Auto color. Took less than 6 seconds. Software is the only way to fix it.

I don't have any software for retouching. I try to keep things plain and simple. At eighty years old I am not sure if I can handle the software.

DOn't think that there is too much that you can do without processing the photos. Depending on how many you want to process. There are programs out there tat are pretty easy, esp if all you want to do is correct the color balance.
