I visited the Grand Canyon for two days last week. I was totally amazed at the immensity of the canyon, the variety of geologic formations, the colors in the canyon, and the weather. Photos can barely capture the beauty and scope of this national park, but I tried. If you get a chance to visit the Grand Canyon, do it. You will be pleasantly surprised (but there are big crowds in the Village during summer season). I ran into snow, hail, rain, fog, overcast and sunshine during the two days. I did not realize that the elevation of the south canyon rim was 7000 feet. It was a great trip.

Very nice! I agree - those who haven't been should plan a trip = spend a few days in Sedona - do some day hikes if you can into the red rock canyons - and then spend a few days at the Grand Canyon. The colors and shadows change throughout the day.
Youβd enjoy the north rim as well; itβs very different.
Another bonus up there is that there are no crowds to speak of.

Well done, good job! It is immense isn't it!! I don't think there are words big enough to explain the grandeur and scale of the beauty !!!!
Nice capture of the majestic colors of the GC.
You did the subject justice. I have been there many times and you did catch the feeling of the scale quite well. Thanks for sharing.
Those are all really special captures. I like one and three the best, but all are great shots. This canyon displays itself so differently depending on lighting, time of day, clouds, or nasty weather. I have been to the canyon many times and the view is quite different every time. I keep wanting to go back again and again. For me this canyon is the most beautiful natural scenic wonder in the world.
You did a fabulous job, thank you for sharing. πππ
Nice shots ,the thing that amazes me is the stratus layers just can't imagen what was happened between layers something to think about .
