Support is not the problem with Picasa. Google set it up so you cannot email anything from it!

I'll have to retry that feature. Last time I tried I was able to email from Picasa. I used to be able to email and post onto facebook from Lightroom. NOW I can't?? I loved Picasa for editing until I found a world of difference in Lightroom in quality. Still can't manage the cataloging and that's why I bought it. I have a severe aversion to instructions. Holds me back in a lot of ways sometimes. Other times I plug thru, learn, then forget. 67 is not a good age for (my) brain and it ain't getting any younger!

A friendly Hedgehog showed me that you can move a Picasa file to your desktop and then import it to Google photos. Works great!

I've enjoyed the features of Picasa for years, as it suits me very well.
(I have Lightroom and use it sometimes, BUT, - for my needs, Picasa is great for 90% of my photos.)

As Google seems to have discontinued support for Picasa, I am looking for something close to that same set of features including a SIMPLE set of Editing Tools, Organizing, and Storage of photos, (even if it costs a bit of money), and wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions? - Thanks!

Photoscape it's pretty easy, there is the free version and then for 40.00$ the pro version works great.
they said that the trial version it's for a certain amount of time, they never cxl. it.

I like Picasa also, but to do a little more I have Affinity. Not $$$, a lot of YouTube lesson videos. And I just downloaded Faststone. I am not a pro, but between the 2, I am starting to surprise myself. Thanks to this forum and everyone's suggestions.

Hey there,
I am also in process of consolidating images from Picassa, Photo, and other programs (iPhone images, etc.). After searching a bit, I landed on Adobe Bridge. It is free, and updates are free as well. It has many good organizational tools and, although I haven't yet explored, reportedly good basic editing tools. Might be good, especially since you do also have and use sometimes Lightroom.

Luminar3 & Capture One work extremely well for me...

Cheers!

I bought Luminar and have enjoyed 3 major upgrades to Luminar 3 all free. What I love the most is AI 2.0 and that its library is simultaneously synchronized with my "Pictures" folder on my Mac.
Exporting and sharing are both 1 stop.
I am not one who spends time on a computer so I found both learning and using to be very efficient use of my "bad weather days"

PShane,
I am still using Picassa for easy organization primarily. I use it in tandem with Elements 13 and together they can do a tremendous amount. I recently bought Affinity Photo and am on the learning curve. Together with other programs like Nik and Topaz, etc. I think I can do whatever it takes to help create an image that matches my imagination ("vision").
Now, if my composition could match my PP I would really be in good shape.

If you own Lightroom, learn LR and use LR. Stop wasting your time and money elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply, - - I DO use, and like Google Photos, but as I have a Canon 60D, which does not have a 'Wireless' feature, I don't know how to get photos from my SD Card into Google Photos directly.
(I probably have missed something, but if you know how, please let me know. - When I used Picasa, and uploaded my SD Card's photos, it used to 'ask' if I wanted to add them to Google Photos, & I would, but now I don't see that message anymore.)
Open for advice & suggestions! - Thanks again, Pat

In Picasa go to Tools->Upload->Upload to Google Photos. No need to copy to desktop then upload.

You may like faststone, but, you have Lightroom, why not just use it.

I am able to email from Picasa but I can not upload to Google Drive or Photos. I don't think the photo backup works either.
