Recently, I put a post out there, asking for suggestions for alternate names for APS-Cameras. Nothing came up from that post. So, after much deliberation - I came up with - DXI - for all-INCLUSIVE DX type cameras. The extensive use of "Crop" has gotten to me, as it refers to just too many things. Also, there is a tendency, on the part of many FF users, to denigrate "Crop" users - by calling them "Crap" … PLUS - it appears - the term APS-C - is totally inaccurate, as it refers to a Film Camera designation of the early 90s. So, DXI - it is!

Doesn't seem to work well for Canon or other manufacturers' APS-C cameras.

I have not seen "many FF users...denigrate 'Crop' users by calling them 'Crap'" as you claim. Are you trying to stir up trouble?

Well, EYE have - at least - a DOZEN - and right here, at UHH, too ….
Do a Search - for "Crap" … and see what you come up with, Mike …
Chances are - MOST of them - are referring to CROP cameras …

Not asking for Canon's approval, OR sanction …
But, DX - is a term familiar to all users on here - particularly - Nikon advocates …
It seems a simple matter to extend it one character - to embrace ALL APS-C designs …
It's even easier to remember how to write … NONE of this hyphen biz - either …
I've even noticed a lotta folks here - even - leaving OFF the last part - "-C" to make it easier to write - a REAL no-no - as that refers to yet ANOTHER discontinued format … so - DXI - makes the most sense!!!

That is simply not true. This is not the first time you have defended some claim of yours by telling people that if they do a search they will discover that your claims are true. No doubt you assume that most people will not go to the trouble of doing a search and will take your word for it.

Nobody needs make that search, nor does anyone need believe me, or not ...
However, I have more often been right, here, than wrong.
The number of times this has happened to me - have escaped my actual count. When it's been said to me - I've felt personally affronted, have made some kind of glib response, in return, and have closed the page as soon as possible. Therefore, I have not earmarked those responses, Mike. Had I ever felt I would have needed to, in the future, in order to defend myself of just such an accusation as yours, I surely would have

Well, this is pointless. You want to change something simple that everyone knows, to something else simple that only you seem to be into. You say DXI is easier to remember because you don't like hyphens. Get over it. I have never forgotten that my cameras are APS-C, which I often refer to as Crop frame with no shame. The first reference to crap, instead of crop, that I have ever seen on UHH, was just a few minutes ago when I read your post. Let it go. There are better issues to devote your time too.

I don't care how many times you have been right in the past, in this instance you are not telling the truth. Many people here are not calling crop sensors crap, as you claimed, and a search if the site will not prove that you are right about that, as you claimed. The claim you are now making, that you told the truth many times in the past is irrelevant. Even if that were so, it would not make today's lies true.

He's been trying to stir up trouble since he first got here. He tries to dress it up as "starting a conversation" but it's easy to see through what he is doing.

CAM - I had no problems with the APS-C designation, until a short time ago - when someone in another thread - reminded me APS-C isn't valid anyway, as it refers to a film type. This, coupled with my own repugnancy over the abuse of the term CROP - paralleling it to CRAP - made me decide it was time to seek an alternate name or acronym … and, since everyone is comfortable with DX - I figured the extension would embrace ALL APS-C users - AND would be easier to WRITE and - REMEMBER, too …

No YOU look it up and give us links to those posts. You don't make spurious claims and then when challenged say to look for proof you are wrong. When you are challenged YOU show proof to back up your statement.
