<<You know why, don't you? … RICOH - no longer even MAKES DSLRs.>>

If you go to Ricoh's website, then products, you will find all of the Pentax branded DSLRs that they make, including medium format, K-1 II, etc.

They identified themselves as Ricoh, on the tape, Bebu. So, if NOT Ricoh, who on earth - WOULD they be?

And now we understand why scammers continue plying their trade. Probably related to my best friend, Rachael from card services.

That site works ok for me.

You select DSLR as a category, then select Model (K-50) then punch continue …

And then you get a message saying - "you didn't select a category"

So then you go thru the process again - same thing. Did it a couple dozen times.

It's a joke, Richard.

You must have a different site, there, in Oz!

If they were legitimate, the people who call have no idea what product you may have until you give them that information and they find it in their records. Call center people are given only lists of numbers to people who may be interested.

I don't register my cameras, Hassig - at least, not - on-line.

This was a machine which called me the other day - a recorded voice, and there was no way to continue the call, other than by pressing "1" - which, obviously, I don't HAVE - on a Trimline phone. So, there was no way to continue. If, that caller/machine had the sense? - I might've been interested, they could ONLY have gotten it from reading the posts, here. None of my other 11 DSLRs - have been damaged. If this were SOP - then, I'd be getting calls from Nikon, Canon, Sony, et al - all day long ….

It was found via the Ricoh (America website).

Finally got PAST that DSLR glitch, Richard, and even BEFORE asking what was wrong with it - they put up an estimate indicating it would cost $187.50 - for them to LOOK at it, and then proceeded to ASK ME - to put in my Credit Card Number (with MasterCard having popped up.) I don't POSSESS such a thing. I only possess the Pentax K-50, which didn't cost me a whole lot more than that estimate. So, I think I'll pass ….
