D750 24-120m F4 RAW PP in LR 6.14 Comments? Advice? Suggestions?

I recently bought a D750 with that lens. I think both are excellent. As for the photos, you have demonstrated the sharpness of that lens and the detail possible. I also think your tonal range is very good in each of these nicely created black and white conversions..... almost makes me want to give up my film.

Great eye for tone and detail. Fine as they are, with the nuanced feel of a silver gelatin print.

From a neophyte's point of view they all look great and I couldn't suggest a thing.

I guess the 'door' shots sway me more toward the mechanical aspects of how they work and away from the editing aspects. The first shot - for the life of me I can't figure out how this little door opens.
My apologies, I know this isn't what this forum is for. It just threw me.

Great observation. Looks like the middle hinge has to be opened first, but at some point they decided to secure it permanently and replaced the turny-thing with a bolt

It is actually a portal within a larger door. Being near the main drawbridge entrance, I suspect it is a defensive feature.

The small door was used to allow a person to get back into the fort without the entire door having to be cranked open. In the first photo, the small door is permanently secured in closed position because the large inner door is no longer closed due to a broken hinge (during the civil war bombardment). In the fourth photo, the small door in the outer large door originally had the same purpose. It is currently used for the last Ranger to get out of the fort after closing the large gate for the night from the inside. A padlock secures the small door until access the next morning when the Ranger must get inside to open the large outer door again.

Thanks for that info. It is an amazing fort with a fascinating history.
