After watching several reviews on Affinity I went ahead and purchased it for a one time $50.
I still plan on using my Lightroom.
Affinity may or may not be the Photoshop killer, but for my needs it provides me with plenty of tools for what I need to do.
I was also very pleased that they provide a very well organized and complete tutorial page which appears to describe every function in video form, all in one place....

Recently I bought an Xrite color checker passport and i think to the 15th of April they gave you a code for affinity Photo I really should grab that but i already purchased affinity Photo for Mac and iPad very rare to use a PC

If you register at ephotozine.com (no cost) you can get Affinity Photo at 1/2 price.

Check out Affinity Photo. For me it's "Photoshop on Steroids," and it costs a flat-out $49. How can you go wrong with that?

Moved from Photoshop to Affinity Photo when it was released on the Windows platform and love it. I'm now using Capture One (in place of Lightroom) and Affinity Photo, and couldn't be happier with the change!

I recently moved to Lightroom and Photoshop and I use them both. But I am just a "hobbyist". If you use them for work... it is a business expense that you can "write off".

I would get them both. I have. But of course you need to know how to use them and have the time to learn and to "adjust" your pictures. If you don't have the time to learn... stay with Lightroom alone.

There are a lot of great, free, photoshop, and lightroom, tutorials on the internet. Check out https://www.piximperfect.com/ and https://onlinephotographytraining.com/ for two great examples.

When you can see what you can do... that should help you decide.

I should have added... If you want to do HDR consider Photomatix Pro. It is a relatively cheap, easy to use, tool for HDR images.

in my personal opinion no, but photoshop has a host of ways to edit that lightroom does not such as layers. Bottom line is it is up to you and what works for you.

I should also mention that Affinity Photo has very nice Panorama/Mosaic, Stacking, HDR and Focus Merge/Stacking tools built in and right up front with instant access to full postprocessing after using these tools.

I use photoshop exclusively. It is very powerful in that it allows you to work with layers which are Non Destructive. Lightroom does not work with layers.
I hate Lightroom cataloging. If you are a pro and need to find images from years ago then use Lightroom. I have 25000+ images on external hard drives and have no problem finding images.
