I am looking for a reasonable monopod to support my Canon 80D and 150-600mm lens. I also would like some advice on using a ball head, gimbal head or just a tilt head. I really don't know much about this at all. There is so much out there i am at a loss. Thanks

I use an Opus Monopod 0T-S10M. It has 4 flip-release extensions. I don't use a ball head - just attach the camera via the screw mount. Works fine.

I don't know what your budget is but the manfrotto 685B is raised and lowered with a press of the trigger just below the grip as you step on the foot plate. No pressure clips to release makes it really fast to use.
I use a tilt head with Nikon's 70-200 and 200-500.

Yes, this is the first Monopod I used - the Manfro 685b - great for speed and ergonomics ! - but it does not collapse very small - so I do not use it much today since I have learned the value and versatility of a small collapsing monopod. PM me if you have questions.

Can you post a photo you've taken using a monopod at a shutter speed of around 1/250 second and of a stationary subject. Check the store original box so that it's a high resolution.

I guess I'm a minimalist, but I use a hiking stick. Many sticks contain a 1/4" standard mounting screw, available if you unscrew the rounded head.
Lots of choice re: manufacturers, features, sturdiness, etc. You can get one for less than 20 bucks

Here is the very last monopod you will ever need. You get a solid mini tripod thrown in for the same price.
There is an aluminum version for 10 bucks less. It's on back order everywhere ... for a reason.

I have a Slik Pro Pod 600 with a ball head. It has flip locks which I like also. Plenty tall enough for me, 6ft tall. I've had it for years and we've covered a lot of miles together. I don't remember what it cost, but very reasonable. I also use a Slik tripod, I like them both very much. And they take a beating and keep on working.

I too have a number of Sliks….EZ monopod/330dx tripod/mini pro III/S-pole/80's 120 tripod.
