Greed is a ridiculous argument for the cost of lens hoods from Canon in my view. How much of their total revenue do people supporting this Greed motive think Canon is making off of hoods. I am going to suggest that it is likely less than .01 percent. I mean really how many replacements do we think Canon sells each year? I say not very many at all. Now if Canon said that you can’t get a replacement or get the lens repaired people would be even more up in arms...

You make a good point! First not that I don't like the manufacturer of your camera I work with a camera from different manufacturer. And speaking of work, I'm not a professional photographer. I'm a hobbyist from 1976. So I can't justify spending a hefty price tag for premium glass. As for being a professional photographer keep up the good work and show me what great art really is!

I think I did.... sorry, he really got my feathers up with that post, kinda uncalled for and my response to you was probably no better than his post....
He is right though, I am not going to spend $2700 on a 85mm prime, I already have the original EF 85/1.2 and the Sig 105.... there is no way that lens is that much better than the Sigma.
