Paul Krugman was awarded The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics; not the same as The Nobel Prize. The economics prize is separately funded and late to the Nobel table.

Krugman along with others of his ilk, are all Keynesian economists. That model has been long disproven in economic circles. Even Keynes walked away from his model after he saw that it failed so miserably during FDR's New Deal years.

The Nobel Prize committee is notoriously left-to-Socialist leaning in their prize awarding model, especially the Peace Prize.
