Visited there once (early 70s) to visit a born-in-Maine cousin. She introduced me to “lobstah” at a seaside restaurant in Ogunquit, if I remember correctly. I was taken aback by the beauty of the state and the picturesque seaside towns. It’s on my list of places to return to for the autumn scenery.
While I was growing up in Tennessee, my Mainer cousins would come down to visit every 3-4 years. It would take us kids a couple of days to pick up on our peculiar differences in accents and pronunciations to the point we wouldn’t have repeat things so much. Nice memories.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments. Steve, thank you for your comments. In my post I mentioned that I hardly scratched the surface when it came to see Maine. It is a beautiful State and I could easily spend a month there without seeing everything.
