"I am not sure if the OP has problem posting an example or he doesn't care."

We need to see an example of his images so we can give him good advise. I have difficulties understanding why using flash at night for a street scene unless to illuminate a specific subject in which case the flash is used as a fill-in.

I know we need to see an example and I asked the OP twice to post an example. So I wonder if the OP has problem posting an image or he doesn't care what I have to say?

Since I use ETTL for flash auto control, I keep the camera all in manual, including ISO. If the flash is strong enough it will light the scene. Outdoors that is a big IF. In any case, inverse square law may be working against you, lighting things that are close enough, but not things far.

Hi Everyone ,
I've have this very annoying problem .
D300s .. SB600 Flash .. 18-105 /3.5 ed lens

Flash works fine in indoor scene .
But outdoors it seems to get confused .

EG a street scene with just a few street lamps
Then the pictures always turn out very dark and I have to bring them up in PS .
Ive tried all metering systems and all focus points / Tried manual / etc etc ..
The only thing that is better ( but only a little ) is camera on Auto .

Now I have found a possible answer on this link .http://francoismalan.com/2011/04/auto-iso-on-the-nikon-d7000/
According to it .. I'm suck with this issue as it's a quirk of the camera ..

Any views on this ?
Hi Everyone , br I've have this very annoying prob... (show quote)

A street scene with just a few street lamps? From that brief description it sounds more like a scene that would be better suited for a time exposure shot on a tripod.

Hand held? 1/125 and f 5.6 with a speedlight? One small flash cannot possibly light up an entire street.
