Not likely per G-force. Others have stated NASA's launch max at 4G. I am not going to verify that. But I do know that Top-Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars in NHRA drag racing can experience more than 4G and up to -7G when the parachutes open! These cars can exceed 332 mph at 1000 ft! Point being, sometimes they have a camera on the car to show the run from the driver's perspective and the lenses don't crack. I also very much doubt any of those cameras are Nikon or Canon, more likely Go-Pro or something similar.

What are the G-forces on Fighter Jets?

Usually you hear pilots talking about "9 G turns" in fighter jets. When I worked in the air express industry, we had "9 G cargo nets" separating the cargo area from the flight deck. 9 Gs seems to be a standard in airframe design.

Really...have other manufacturers found the secret to thermal absorption that Canon missed?

I have a whitish Sony long telephoto so I guess they are as smart as Canon. Lol 😂

The barrel? Of course you wouldn't sand the barrel! Are you nuts? We were discussing getting over-spray off the lens elements after painting the barrel white. Sand the barrel! My gosh, now I have heard everything!

Blue masking tape does a good job of keeping that nasty off white over spray off the front and rear glass. I personally just use lens skins. They not only alter the exterior appearance, they also help protect the lens.
But shouldn't one prep the barrel prior to painting? And isn't the best way to prep the barrel prior to painting off white, sanding with real fine sand paper or steel wool!?🎨

It doesn't count if they don't paint that really cool crimson band on the outer edge of the lens barrel.

I own a few fairly large telephoto lenses, painted both black and light grey. Prior to installing lens coats on those lenses I noticed that when mounted on a tripod and shooting in the hot Outer Banks early afternoon sun, the black barrels would become quite hot to the touch and the off white light grey Canon barrels would not. I don't know how this effected the lens internally but it sure made it difficult to hold on to the black lens barrels. I use to drape white cotton towels over the black barrels to keep them from getting too hot. They now all have light camo lens skins on them and the skins don't heat up in the sun light like the black paint did.

OK, cool. That answers that. Figures I think they pretty much use "aviation" grade metals for high-end drag cars.

I don't think it will be just the longer focal lengths in white. The RF 85 1.2L coming out 7/19 looks like it will be getting the same color treatment. The white is easily identified at sporting events.

While the off white with crimson band lenses may be easily identified at sports events, the 85mm lens mentioned isn't something you'd normally see at such an event; it is more a portrait and still life lens.

I'm well aware of that. I merely mentioned that the color is migrating to the shorter focal lengths. It's no longer going to be just the great whites.
