Keeps dropping off while I’m working. It’s a bayonet style. Tried a clip on but it didn’t fit right. It only falls off when it’s in use not when it’s reversed on the lens for storage.

I use a small piece of black electrical tape between one of the side petals and the side of the lens after it's "locked" on. No problems with it falling off while carrying the camera on my hip and bumping into things.

Teflon Tape that I use for securing pvc to metal when doing irrigation. It's normally white, you can wrap around end of lens 5 or 6 times pulling it tight and stretching the tape. Just break it off /tape/ and it works great. Once you've taken the lens hood off a dozen or so times it wears out /the tape/ if the edges are sharp, if not last forever. Just replace when worn out.. It also works great for filters as well but only wrap once around. Filters won't stick this way either. Find in the plumbing department at any store....

I use it a lot. I have a roll in black, and HD carries it in grey. Very useful stuff for lots of things. Good for shimming and eliminating friction.

I have four lenses, but only one with a bayonet hood. The other three have screw on hoods, which I do not remove. And I use lens caps which fit on to the hoods! Just to be different I guess. But my method is very convenient; remove the lens cap, use the blower, and shoot away. There again, I am only an occasional shooter.

for smaller lenses I use a piece of electrical or gaffers tape to secure it and just leave lens hood on all the time

For larger glass I use a small strip of velcrow or (hook and loop fasteners).... find velcrow with adhesive and without.
I take 2 small strips of the "hook" with adhesive and stick it to lens and hood.
and use the a strip of the "loop" without the adhesive to attach across the hook portions after attaching the lens hood. works like a champ and keeps lens hood from spinning off and after removing the lens hood, store the "loop" portion on one of the "hook" sections attached to the lens or hood.
My smaller lenses don't have enough room to attach velcrow to the lens.
All it takes is to loose 1 50 dollar lens hood from a large lens

Teflon tape on bayonet “thread” Remember to put it on counter clockwise.

Gaffers tape is made for this kind of work. And buy the better versions.
the smaller and cheaper versions dont stick as well.
They make a big difference. Especially in video work I tape all kinds of stuff.
And it comes off easily

Just thought of an approach inspired by the movie Scrooged. They needed to attach antlers to a mouse. Bill Murray suggested staples!
