Free Sunday is here again. Hope you all had fun or learned something new on last week’s challenges. I know I did. Thank you to Photogirl17 and HardworkinGal. They were good ones. Free Sunday is all about what you want to post, it’s your choice of subject matter. We do prefer family friendly on this thread so please join us with that in mind.
When I was in highschool Dad had a used car, well dad always had used cars, but I thought this one really unique. It was a 55 Plymouth, no wait, it may have been a 55 Dodge. It had been in a wreck and had Dodge body parts on a Plymouth, or maybe it was a Dodge with Plymouth body parts on it. Anyway we called it a Plodge. Imagine my surprise as I was walking around Terlingua the ghost town ….

Went for an all day photo trip to the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area which is on the Washington and Oregon sides of the river! I traveled on both sides of the river for several hours!

pg1 All quite beautiful shots. Love the composition of the last one.

Ahhh the sun is out today!! Been a rainy cold week. I had one left from "round to it" challenge and the raging river. Since the river runs through an old mill complex, decided to "do it" in an "old" look.

pg2 Give me back the sun! Today is cold (woke up to 33 degrees) and rainy/snowy after two weeks of 60's with quite a bit of rain periodically; they just reported on the news that we are already 2.9 inches above average rainfall for this month, hope we aren't going to have a repeat of last year with more rain days then dry days!
That raging river is truly angry...is it at least staying within its banks? Shots of this river when it calms down combined with these shots of raging would make a great series....

-My son graduated from the Coast Guard academy last month in Cape May, NJ. We spent a day in Philadelphia before we caught our flight home. These images are from the incredible Reading Market 1 block from our Hotel. These photo's were taken at about 9am but by noon this place was wall to wall people lined up around corners at their favorite food stalls. By the way if your in Philadelphia and you want a really authentic Cheese Stake - get it here. The other places are tourist traps and the first place we were steered called Steve's was complete garbage. So happy I got one in the Reading Market before we left.

-I also found it interesting that many of the stalls & shops were run by Amish families. But the verity of food and goods was amazing. We had the most delicious breakfast at Beck's Cajun Cafe and my breakfast cost me $7.50 - would have been twice that in California.

pg 1 Congratulations to your son! I was born and raised in Philadelphia so Reading Terminal is very familiar place! My husband lived "in the city" and often tells the story of his Mom sending him and his brother to Reading Terminal every year for their fresh Thanksgiving turkey from the Amish market. These are all wonderful photographs, thank you for sharing!

Here are a couple I haven't posted before taken during
our recent trip to NYC.

I'll apologize in advance for the last one; I tried combining
three images from Time Square into a panorama, and
failed miserably...I'll keep trying, but hopefully you'll
get the idea...lol

pg 1 These are all great shots, but one in particular brought back some memories for me from back in the early 80's - the hubby (then BF) injured his foot and had to go to the company Dr in NY. We decided to make a day of it. We took Amtrak from 30th Street in Phila. to GSS. The Dr was located right near Central Park so when we were finished we took a carriage ride through Central Park. It had started snowing on the train ride so by the time we took the carriage ride the park was covered. It was amazingly beautiful. I think I had one of those Disc camera's and I can only recall one photograph of the two of us in the carriage. Now I'm going to have to get my hubby to pull out those old totes from the garage attic so I can look for them. Tim (my hubby) will thank you Tim! I on the other hand will thank you for bringing that day back!
