What do tax cuts have to do with employee performance?

Exactly. Our USPS service has been excellent, but they all screw up occasionally - I’ve had terrible deliveries from UPS and even FedX (which I’ve always considered the gold standard). I have to say that Amazon Prime’s delivery service has been first rate so far.

Yes! Have had no bobbles getting items delivered in two days with Amazon Prime.

[quote=Popeye]Wife ordered something on line. It went from California to Louisville, Kentucky, back to Washington state and then down to us. With the price of fuel (see post above this one) I don't see how they can do it.[/quote

Could shipping costs be similar to buying a plane ticket? Sometimes the cheapest ticket isn’t for the most direct flight; it could involve seemingly unrelated destinations. Another thought is that the guy who developed the algorithms wasn’t smart enough to get the job he really wanted: creating unfathomable financial products and trading strategies at Goldman Sachs.
Just sayin’

Wow, this thread has certainly wandered off-topic.
Bye-bye!

I find threads like this very strange. I guess people in certain regions have more problems than others do. I live in central New Jersey, and now that I shop almost entirely online I am in receipt of more than 250 packages in a year. I take delivery of packages from USPS, FedEx, Amazon Prime, and UPS virtually every single day, and have been for quite some time. I can count on one hand the bad experiences I've had, which were all resolved to my satisfaction. The worst cases were a few deliveries accidentally made to my next door neighbor, delayed deliveries during peak shipping seasons like Christmas, and things that unexpectedly required a signature and I was not home to receive them. That's it.

Wow, I can shoot just as bad with a $30 queue stick. Will a $2 grand queue improve my game?!

Actually yes.

A $30 cue likely isn’t straight when new.

I live out in the sticks and have no problem. In fact here comes my mail now. He is riding a sway back and wearing a big hat.

Yes, the pony express was probably more efficient than todays USPS.

Ditto...hard to think of a time I’ve had a delivery problem. I do more sending than receiving with USPS but most of that goes to major cities: Atlanta, Seattle, Boston...no problems.

Are you really telling us that if taxes were raised the delivery of packages would improve. Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Tax cuts had nothing whatsoever to do with package delivery or anybody losing anything. Perhaps you can explain what you are talking about. So far I see nothing but emptiness.

If I knew I was going to take a pay cut, and that budget cuts would get half the workers in my area fired, and I might be one of those to go soon, I would not work very hard. Why reward the ayholes who are going to abuse me? Tax cuts lead to budget cuts, which lead to: reduction of pay, loss of benefits, layoffs, loss of promotion possibilities, and the worry of being the next to become unemployed. That all leads to morale reduction, which produces work reduction, and reduction of efficiency on the job. I can tell-by your lack of management knowledge, efficiency expertise, and logic-that you are a Republican / Tea Bagger. Enjoy the coming recession which tax cuts are going to being you. I am retired, living in a paid off house, have a reliable vehicle, own most of the clothes, toys, etc, I could want, and cook, and eat, at home. The recession which is coming will have little effect on me, except when I am buying groceries, or gasoline. I can manage well enough. If you are not gainfully retired, or independently wealthy, you are going to be hurting soon economically. In the 1950s, and 1960s, taxes were higher, and governments at all levels had more money available for: national defense, education, road repair, bridge repair, and more. More businesses had more profits. Recessions were shorter, and less damaging. More people had better jobs. Today, taxes are lower. Roads, and bridges, are crumbling, and not being repaired. More people are unemployed longer, and getting less pay, and benefits, when they do work. There are fewer businesses, and each struggles more to exist. Governments can not afford to hire enough: police, fire fighters, border guards, immigration judges, etc.

Taxes have nothing to do with it... (this from the Postal Service Web site): Zero tax dollars used. The Postal Service receives NO tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

Tax cuts led to revenue increases.

This is one of the best things I've ever read that makes no sense on the internet. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.
