My Wife wanted to know if that was a bear (looking at the monitor from the side), I said "wild California Korgi Bear", very cute "photo bomber"!!!!

She was the closest I came to seeing an animal in the wild on this hike. There were plenty of other dogs on the trail, too. Everyone had the same idea about hiking back to a very lovely waterfall. Soon we'll be in our dry season and the waterfall and creek will dry up. The dogs won't get as dirty.

Thanks for taking time for this series olemikey.

Nice Vicki. Hair dryers can be used on a dog if the dog permits.

No need for hair dryers in this instance. After spending a little time laying in the sun, the dogs were dry and much happier.

Thanks for taking time for this post TheShoe.

Very nice, Vicki and glad that Lexi wasn't in too much trouble!

I'm never unhappy with this dog. She's genuinely good and rarely any trouble. Since I and the other dog also had to wade across the stream, I could hardly complain that the dogs got wet.

Our little girl is a 4 lb. Chihuahua named Joy (and she most certainly brings joy to our lives), we can't take her along the creeks and water areas here in Florida unless we carry her (Alligators, you never know where you might encounter one). As a Cali native, I miss the wilds of Cali, and the wilds of Florida are wonderful, but a very different set of predators. Great set, enjoyed Lexi and the environment pictured.

Oh, yes! Corgi's have a thick pelt and they do look an awful lot like bears. That's why we named ours Teddy Bear (Teddy, for short).

I imagine Joy gets carried on your some of your outings. We don't have many critters that would attack our dogs except for coyotes which we rarely see unless we're out at dawn. I keep the dogs on leash if there's any chance of an encounter.

I'm glad you enjoyed the shots and enjoyed hearing about your little one. Thanks for taking time for this post.

Corgis have a double coat that is rather thick, making them look fatter than they are. I think some look a little more like foxes than bears. The last one we had, also Teddy, looked like a panda. We almost named him Panda except our neighbors had already claimed that name for their Newfoundland.
