There is a small museum below the main point, down some stairs...that contained information about “Photography At Point Lookout”...I attached photos I took of items on display....The short version is that a man from Ohio, who served on General Grant’s staff, saw the potential of the panoramic view, and established a family photography business lasting more than 70 years. He photographed thousands of soldiers on the Point with the beautiful Tennessee River and the great Moccasin Bend as a background.
