It is possibly an electrical issue for those pixels or a scratch on the sensor. Since they change color and appear to be absolutely straight across, I'd lean more towards an electrical issue with the sensor.

The horizontal "line" is clearly visible on the double download (you have to hunt for it). Did a different card make any difference? If not, it's probably a problem with the sensor or the electronics. If KEH can't fix it, they should give you another camera.

I see it and it is definately digital. I suspect the sensor, but slight possibility it is the memory card. I outlined it in red below.

Update: Since the selection is so small, I made it downloadable.

We all want our work free from defects but if the line is this small and takes microscopic efforts to find it, is it really a problem?

I am getting a line in each image on my Pentax K20D, the line is near the bottom of the image, I am attaching an image that shows the line, I have sent the camera to KEH for warranty repair only to find the is still there. Hopefully the line shows up, any ideas?

Is this an eye exam in disguise? If it is, I failed. I don't see a line.
My second question, when are the space ships coming?

Can't find a line anywhere. Perhaps there is a fault in your viewfinder, not the sensor.

I can't see the line either, but then, my eyesight ain't what it once was. When you sent the camera to KEH did you explain what the problem is?

Chances are that MANY cameras have stuck/dead pixels!

Just a guess. The data from that array is not getting received correctly by the processor. The problem might be more than just the sensor.

I had this occur when i used my phone once while in Madrid. Could not fathom it.
Then I discovered that I had the camera set to take <some type of frame> but the camera was taking a different type of photo. Can't for the life of me remember what the setting was but as soon as I altered it, the line went away.
Something like taking a square photo on a landscape setting or some such. Changed rhe setting and the line went away.

Canon had a problem with the sensor in the A75 camera, purple lines or image completely purple. Canon would fix the camera for free, shipping included. I bought several, for $5 on eBay, had them repaired and use them for my snorkeling trips. What caused this was high humidity such as Florida or a tropical environment.

I think what you are seeing is an actual line in the fence. There is one similar to it on the right side of the photo. See if it picks on a photo of something else.

I finally found the line. It looks like a sensor error in that it changes color, is discrete, and it appears to be pixel based. I would return the camera for a replacement as a defective item, unless it is out of warranty. Just my $0.02 worth.

Click on the download and then click again where I've got it circled. That will blow it up enough to see the line.
