My take on the almost obligatory Ca. poppies. The white lines are obviously blown highlights, I could have dealt with them in post but I think they add interest. They occur on the top rolled edge of the flower petal, a very reflective surface. For the pop you must view in download.

The white almost looks like it belongs there. Very nice.

This historical discussion, and a few of the enclosed links to other posts, should help explain and demonstrate the unintended consequences of posting images when not using the sRGB colorspace.

It is and it isn't NMGal, the white line and white spots appear and disappear as you walk around the poppies. You would swear there was a little bit of white there until looking down on the flower, no white to be found. I believe its an early morning light angle thing, or just a product of the view angle. Either way I think it adds interest. Thank you for looking and the nice comment.

Thank you CHG_CANON for the link, but in this case the cause is light refraction not the color space. The white is visible to the naked eye when walking around the poppy area, appearing here and there only to disappear when moving toward the aberration. I have pic's of the same from different angles that do not show any white, I just like this view.

Maybe a bit overexposed, I also see a very shallow DOF.
I do find Poppies a bit difficult to photograph in bright sun.

You are correct Manglesphoto, on both accounts. Exposure a third to the right to help capture all that intense color and DOF for effect (poppies to pop, not competing with background)
