I did go for a few days. But stood around the main parts of historic Savannah.
PS I took a 24-70 zoom with my as suggested by a friend. You will need a wider lens such as a 16-35. Next time!
Great feedback. Heard same about Paula Dean’s place. Z6+24-70 is definite. I have the 16-35 and thinking about this as well. Probably will take and carry around.
Am I spiting myself by not taking the 70-200 or 28-300? While I can keep lenses in my car; I’ld rather not. And will carry one on and one off. Suggestions?

Civil war? Do you mean the war of northern aggression? (:

I had the 24-105 and used the long end quite a bit. 70 may be a little short but I didn’t see a need for anything longer. Definitely the 16-35 on a full frame camera for the wide end I missed it a lot.

Nice photos. Although I didn't get to visit the other places I was on the street in the last shot. I remember this young, black guy playing a trumpet for handouts. He only knew one song and played it over and over. I asked a sales person about it in one of the shops and she said it almost drove he nuts.

Thinking about going to Savannah and Tybee Island? with my wife for 3 1/2-4 1/2 days mid-June. History and culture on the agenda. Suggestions appreciated as usual.
As you can see, I'm behind on the forum. However FWIW, we spent 2 days in Savannah recently (April 1-2) and had a great time. We started off with a tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery that was a great way to learn about Savannah. The host at our B&B (the Catherine Ward House- a great place to stay, a half block from Forsyth Park) recommended the tour led by Bonaventure Don and he was great. The next day we took the hop-on, hop-off bus tour and really got a lot out of it. I took my Canon 80D and never took my 18-135 off of it. We started our trip with 4 days in Charleston (a beautiful city and our second visit there) and ended it with 4 days in Manhattan. Have a great trip!
