I haven't much time to play with my new (to me) 50mm f1.8 lens which arrived this week, but I can tell I am going to like it. Some practice shots and then edited...

All right, it is Free Sunday once again. Thanks for the challenges kicking off a new month. Sorry I have been absent as it seems. Spending a week in West Texas and then entertaining family members visiting from NC has kept me a little occupied either without wifi service or just busy having fun. Anyway bring it on with anything you would like to share.
We had a great time in the Big Bend NP, and the Davis Mountain area, and I have taken more pictures than I’ll ever be able to share with you, but to kick this one off I will share a few that I captured while out there. We were there at the end of the desert in bloom but we did see a lot of great color.
All right, it is Free Sunday once again. Thanks f... (show quote)

Wow! Looks like a wonderful trip! Great photos! Thanks for hosting Larry!

I like what you've done with your early trials, Pat. I need to use my prime lens more. Way to easy to keep the zooms on for composition.

So true Larry!

Went to one of our Parks yesterday and played... Lots to learn regarding working with the globes...especially the DOF. And need to bring my knee pads or find higher branches, etc. to put the globes on! This getting up and down isn't easy any more! LOL!

Just wanted to post a couple of these. I have been learning about using textures and blending them. You will need to click on download to see some of these properly. They all have at least 3 main layers/textures and then other blending layers.

Off to our club photo shoot. Have a great day everyone!
