All right, it is Free Sunday once again. Thanks for the challenges kicking off a new month. Sorry I have been absent as it seems. Spending a week in West Texas and then entertaining family members visiting from NC has kept me a little occupied either without wifi service or just busy having fun. Anyway bring it on with anything you would like to share.
We had a great time in the Big Bend NP, and the Davis Mountain area, and I have taken more pictures than I’ll ever be able to share with you, but to kick this one off I will share a few that I captured while out there. We were there at the end of the desert in bloom but we did see a lot of great color.
That big gash in the middle mesa is Santa Alena Canyon. Left of the gash is Mexico, center of the gash is the Rio Grande River (it created the gash), and right of the gash is USA.

The ocotillo was in bloom. First I had seen one in bloom.

At the Limpia Hotel in Ft. Davis we spent a couple of late afternoons reading in this public room. Made a panorama with six images to show it off.

Thanks for another free Sunday, LArry. So glad you had a wonderful time. Strong start here!
I haven't much time to play with my new (to me) 50mm f1.8 lens which arrived this week, but I can tell I am going to like it. Some practice shots and then edited...

I like what you've done with your early trials, Pat. I need to use my prime lens more. Way to easy to keep the zooms on for composition.
