Hello Buckbrush---I have hearing aids from Costco. I purchased the Phonak Brio 3R-C. I also purchased a gadget box ( they have to order it ) that you hook up to your tv and sound travels fom the tv to your hearing aid. You do not have to have anything else in your ears or over them. The price is $100. I'll be happy to inform you of the progress, if you want. Tom M

I would suggest headphones...think about the neighbours..my Mum had a similar problem and headphones fixed it OK...she got a type that was specifically made for hard of hearing people...

Hi Tom,
I'm glad to hear you were able to buy hearing aids that had the attachment with a sound transmitter.
I wasn't so lucky as I bought my aids just before they came out with that feature and Costco said they couldn't be retrofitted into my aids, so I would have to buy new ones.
Well, you know how that went down after I just laid out 1700.00 for two new ones a year before. So I'm waiting for my aids to break/fail, or just get lost so I can justify buying new ones with the feature you have.

Interestingly, I believe the price for a new set of aids from Costco has gone down by about 100.00.
Whats that old saying? Go broke saving money???

Thanks for keeping me updated on your experience.

Hello Buckbrush---I bought the $1600 ones but was not satisfied with sound quality, so upped for the next level ($900 more), still not happy with sound. Waiting for the new gizmo that promotes true sound. I was a Sandhog (working in the tunnels) in NYC and it finally caught up to me with all the noise that went on in that occupation. I hope to have good news with the gizmo, maybe you'll want to look into them.
