Thanks Vicki, appreciate the comments....yes they were. At first there were two Sandhill Cranes watching them and when the otters would come out of the water, the cranes would scare them back in (you don't mess with that beak). Finally, the cranes left and the otters had a ball playing on the dike.

Yes it Blair, however I wish VB would take care of the wetlands better than what they have been doing, getting overgrown with cattails and filled with muck. However, its great for walking and there are assortment of birds from waders, to ducks to Painted Buntings....its also very seasonal and most of the migratory birds have left now. Saw one Snail Kite in the distance, never could get close....Cheers.

All migratory birds and ducks have departed and the usual standby's were the only ones out and about....still a good walk anyway and loved sitting and watching the otter family having a good time. There are about 2-3 otter families living in the wetlands and see them quite often.
