I'm pretty sure all of my "window shopping" shots are from Scotland - here's one (also a selfie) from Stirling, 2012.

p.1 So many things to look at. Pictures in pictures with the reflections.

pg. 2

That repair the zipper sign is so vintage - the shop must have been around for a long time - it's really neat.

I hate shopping! But relatively recently (say ten years) I have become casually interested in storefronts and displays, principally for their artistic/design interest. When photographing, I try to avoid the mercenary, like cost/price aspects, though that's often not easy. And sometimes it might even be the main event? Same with reflections - but do they help or hinder? So what's upscale/downscale, tasteful/distasteful in your neck-o'-the-woods? What sparks aspirations or tickles your taste buds? Or what's just photographically interesting?

Do you like ancient or modern or do you have any comparisons of the same place over time? I don't have pairs, but for fun I sometimes compare my own old street images to those obtainable on Google Earth Streetview.

Most of my images date from a trip to Europe in 2010, and most of this first selection are from that collection.

So let's go shopping - but keep a tight hold on your wallet!

Like most of us, I don't usually take pictures of the shop windows! I couldn't resist in Portland, Me.
