Pass Interference Now Available For Review In The NFL

Another rule the NFL was considering to eliminate, is the Point After Touchdown (one point) and just keep the 3 point field goal. Make a touchdown 7 points. That didn't go over well with the owners. There are so many lousy kickers today, in the NFL. IMO.

Yep, too little too late, the Saints got robbed in front of the whole world, so they change the rules to cover their sorry A##! The NFL sucks!!!

The owners voted 31-1 for the pass interference review. I wonder who the lone owner was?

The SB non-call was an obvious mistake but move on. Too much time is already spent on reviews. Refs sometimes make bad calls but players fumble, drop passes and miss tackles. Maybe they should start letting teams call “do overs” when they screw up a play.
Just sayin’

Yes, too much time is spent on reviews. Which is why this new pass interference rule is on a one year trial.

Better yet eliminate the NFL and all the BS that goes with it.

It won't happen. It's a multi billion dollars industry. TV, advertising, and spectators, all contribute to the industry. Love or hate the NFL.

I quit watching the NFL when the kneelers took over. Haven't watched a game since. You'd be surprised how easy it is to not miss it. Try it. Go take some pictures instead or read a book.

You are absolutely correct. It's just a money-raising revenue source for another business. And it's a stupid game. And by Wednesday, it's all forgotten and nothing is settled. Can you recall who won the Super Bowl for the last 10 years---without looking it up?

Belichick will find a replacement for Gronkowski as he’s always done when key players left. I wonder how good Brady would have been on another team without Belichick’s ability to replace key players and re-design his system.

Belichick and Brady are a twosome, just as Walsh and Montana were a twosome. The victories continued with Steve Young as quarterback and another coach. I doubt Belichick would have won as many Superbowls without Brady, and vice versa. It was the perfect combination. Brady's skills are diminishing. But, he has enough skills, still to beat the other very good quarterbacks in the league. At his age, he fears no other quarterback. Young or old. That's a competitor. I say that, not being a fan of Tom Brady. When you play the Patriots with Tom Brady. Prepare well, or you'll leave a loser.

Remember the Outrage that resulted from the Pass Interference no call, during the last quarter of the NFC Championship game in New Orleans. Well, that outrage has changed the rules for next year's NFL games. The Los Angeles Rams won that game, and the Los Angeles Rams went to the Superbowl against the New England Patriots, losing it against the Patriots. Everyone, wondered, what if Drew Brees had played against Tom Brady? I certainly think it would have been a better game. The new rule was also approved by NFL owners. To have Pass Interference to be reviewable. It is too little too late for the Saints. They may not even qualify again, next year, for the Superbowl. What other rules need to be changed?

I agree but have a question: Why do you say “he has enough skills to beat other very good quarterbacks...”? I don’t understand this approach of saying Brady beat Peyton x times or vice versa. Or Eli beat Brady twice. QBs don’t play each other, it’s not a one-on-one matchup, like you might have in basketball or pitcher vs batter in baseball.
Can you help me understand this?

The more reviewable plays they add to NFL games, the longer the game is going to last. The average NFL game is 3 hours 12 minutes not far behind, baseball is 3 hours 10 minutes, NHL hockey game is 2 hours 20 minutes. Most of that time is allowing for station breaks.
