Hillary lost the e******n because of the way your e*******l college system is set up. The popular v**e results were as follows:
Trump -- 62,979,636
Clinton -- 65,844,610
Other -- 7,804,213
This means that, according to popular v**e 73,648,823 people did NOT v**e for Trump. He only got 46% of the popular v**e.

And there is some doubt that the e******n was "fair". Yes, there was no foul play found in the e******n process, but you will never know how much the Russian meddling interfered with the e******n in favour of Trump.

Actually, you can do just that in many places along the border, you're still required by law to report to the nearest ICE before continuing further into the country, it's the same going into Canada. Canada isn't as nice as the US is if you're caught in their country illegally though.

John, there is no wall in much of the areas, hundreds of miles. The i******s can get their big toe on US soil and we have to take them in, give them a court date that is two or 3 years out that 90 percent do not show up for, and they are milking our tax dollars.

Now, do you know why you use that system?

Do you know that the original purpose was to ensure that the people who cast v**es were "able" persons? Apparently the Fathers of Confederation didn't think "the people" were capable of good judgement. Do you think that rationale still applies today? Do you accept that you don't get to v**e for the President directly because you are not smart enough? Are you comfortable with the fact that despite a population of 330 million your president is actually elected by only 538 b****ts? Do you know that the e*******l college v**ers generally v**e according to the popular v**e, but they are not required to do so in some states? Do you know that the 538 b****ts to elect Trump were actually cast on 19 Dec 2016, so technically he was NOT elected on 8 Nov 2016 (dang... those 538 "smart" guys had almost 6 weeks to change their minds... what a missed opportunity!!!)? In fact, the e*******l college b****ts were only counted on 6 Jan 2017, so he was not assured of his presidency until then.

If this is all new to you, Timothy, then maybe you should eat some beaver. That's what we do in Canada, and it makes us smart enough to make each citizen's v**e count equally.

There is a difference between an unfenced/undefended border where you still need documentation to enter a country legally, and an "open border" which implies no control whatsoever. I feel that many of y'alls citizens think the dems don't want ANY control over who enters the country. Words/semantics/generalizations are important.

I was not trying to prove a f**e point; I was trying to say that if every US citizen had an equal voice in deciding who should be president, then Trump would not be your president. The US is not the only country to use an e*******l college system, but personally I don't understand why you use this system. In Canada we don't v**e for our PM directly either, but rather for our representative in parliament. The leader of the party with the majority of v**es gets to be the PM. Some folks v**e for their local rep because they like him/her while others v**e for the rep who represents the party with the leader that they would like for PM. In either case, every v**e counts equally.

Every country has the problem of immigrants, legal or illegal, taking jobs and tax dollars from the citizens of the country. It is a world-wide problem that needs a modern solution, not a wall.

The statistics of where people and drugs are entering your country illegally do not support the notion of a wall across the entire southern border, which is what Trump has been suggesting. Had he been forthright from the beginning with the notion of better i*********n l*ws, enhanced detection systems, and a bit of extra fortification of barriers where they make sense, then I think there would have been much less fuss and hassle moving forward. He stirred the crowd with the idea of a 30 foot high 2000 mile long big beautiful concrete wall for which Mexico would be happy to write a check (cheque in Canada), and now he has to eat crow on that plan (hmmm, eating crow sounds like a familiar refrain in this thread). The barrier will not be 30 feet high, it will not be solid concrete, and it will not be 2000 miles long, and y'all are paying for it yourselves. Methinks Trump exaggerates a bit too much, but I guess that's another of his personality traits that appeals to so many repubs.

John, that will not work in the US. Democrats are in New York, LA, Chicago, etc, the big cities where all the people are located are democrat strong holds. The rest of the US would not be represented because there is not a dense population, like Nebraska, Wyoming, Alaska, and the list goes on. Perhaps you should not be trying to restructure the way we v**e. We are a Republic and it has worked for 240 years. We had a hick-up this last time because the Hildabeast lost and she was supposed to be the ordained one. Now the democrats cry and whine because they lost.
