Those are wonderful! I need to come up with something like your holder ... I never seem to find anything easy to place the ball on when I am out in the field.

Can you give us information on how to make the Chrystal ball holder? My wife got excited when I showed it to her.

KayakingUSA ... I think you had a post about making that holder a month or two ago ... & from these photos, it's clear it was worth the effort. I've never taken any shots like that ... it's intriguing ... but I would think in order to do it well, it would be wise to have a decent holder like you made. Nice job.

Thanks for looking. There is nothing to the jig. The ball sits in a cut off water bottle on one end and the camera mounted on the other end.

Look at some of my previous post. When I first posted about the jig I gave the details of design. Thanks for looking. It is lots of fun experimenting with the ball.

The jig does make it easier. Once you get the camera focused on the ball, all the images are focused because no matter what you are taking a picture of, the image in the ball is where your focus is on. Thanks for looking.

I did not see how long board was and how thick to make the camera mount is. This mount is so clever and would love to make it for my wife. Thank you for your help.

Why did I think all pics shot through a crystal globe would display upside down?

Here is the post in which the OP described the "jig" ... quite creative:

Hmmm....never thought about cutting the bottom off a water bottle! I could carry that in my backpack in the field...thanks!
