Excellent photography, Bill_de! I love the Kingfisher and RWBB images especially. I like how the background is muted and simplistic, but enough detail there to know the birds are in their environment. Bombay Hook seems to have quite an assortment of wildlife/birds.

Carla, the birds were pretty cooperative yesterday in placing themselves in front of nice backgrounds. It did take the Red Winged Black Bird a while to catch on.

Thanks for posting.

Thank you very much Sylvia. I watched that bird for about an hour catching a fish and bringing it back to the same tree. Mostly it was obstructed a bit by branches when perched, but I could still see it. I could not keep the darn thing in the viewfinder once it cleared the branches, even though I could tell when he was ready to jump. I'm just too slow.

I may try again next week with a wider lens. We'll have to see.

Thank You!

It is certainly nice to have this 1/2 hour from home. Some days are dead, but with such a short drive it doesn't matter. I sometimes go in the morning and evening.

Thanks very much Oldie. That little guy put on quite a show. I missed most of it with the camera, but enjoyed it just the same.
