Got up at O-Dark 30 and fired up the jeep and began to ride to Great Point to photograph the sunrise at the Light house. It is a ride over several miles of dunes with deflated tires (a must). But oh so worth the trip. This time of the year the only living things out there are the birds and the seals.
Did I mention that it was freezing on Sunday morning and the wind was blowing pretty good. You guys know what its like to try to operate the camera with gloves on...
So off we went... Enjoy the view most will never see.

#3 is my favorite. Nicely done. I took the trip once. The lady driving in front of us got stuck near the crest of a small hill near the beginning of the track. The guy behind me and I pushed her out of the ruts, but then she stopped before cresting the hill. Stuck again. So I walked over to her door and said, "Once you get moving DO NOT STOP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!" We finally got her going.
That trip is super fun at any time of year, but particularly in the warm weather. Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day you can avoid most of the tourist invasion. After the point goes under water at the very tip you can swim there in the shallows, BUT if there's any significant current, don't. You can be swept away. Next stop Ireland, Nova Scotia, Morocco, Cuba, or an extremely fortuitous encounter with a Coast Guard boat.
