Got up at O-Dark 30 and fired up the jeep and began to ride to Great Point to photograph the sunrise at the Light house. It is a ride over several miles of dunes with deflated tires (a must). But oh so worth the trip. This time of the year the only living things out there are the birds and the seals.
Did I mention that it was freezing on Sunday morning and the wind was blowing pretty good. You guys know what its like to try to operate the camera with gloves on...

So off we went... Enjoy the view most will never see.

Nantucket this time of year before bedlam hits must be beautiful as your shots attest. ... I have visited many times during "bedlam" lol and its beautiful then too... just busy! Good for you not waiting till noon to shoot. Besides deflated tires, you need a "kit" ( rope, shovel, etc. ) AND a permit! How much was the over sand permit? Or were you staying with someone?

Our transportation (Jeep Wrangler) is a permanent island vehicle which my friend owns. I was out to the island to help him get some of his properties ready for the rental season, The Jeep has a permit... I was able to get to Madeket for a sunset photo and Great point for a sunrise shoot. Cold and windy but worth the time.
