She reminds me of the dowager on Downton Abbey. I like the photo.

Just a question. Why do people call a mature woman “young lady” but not call a mature man "young gentleman'’?
Excellent portrait shot of a gracious looking lady, Don.
It's almost as if this were taken at Buckingham Palace. Quite regal.
But you have made a common mistake that I have made countless times. You've cut off the bottom of the stone of her necklace. Aiming a camera at someone is an uncomfortable thing for me and I try to take it fast. Trying to get everything in is not always so easy.
Having said that, I am 67, and I hate when someone calls me "young man." It's patronizing and insulting. It's bad enough getting old and hurting without that.

Some of you wanted a more frontal view of this young lady in my last post of her. Wasn't sure I had one but I did and here it is. Looks like it was posed but it was 100% candid. Please critique away. Suggest in download.
Thanks,
Don
What's to critique?...it's a nice photo of a good looking older women.
Are you kidding me?
A critique is the action or the art of criticizing. In criticism of a literary or more rarely
an artistic work.
Which he asked for.

The candid of the lady is really nice, but I would get rid of that ropey looking thing from her cheek to her neck.
That "ropey" thing was the handle of a tea pot. Good catch NMGal, will see what I can do.

A look of elegance...agree with getting rid of the handle looking thing on the right side of the photo...all in all a good job!!
Thank you for viewing and commenting Bob. Will try to remove the handle.

Fantastic!!!!
A little more frontal than I would have done, but a great image.
I agree with NmGal,I would have removed the "Brown loop" running from her left shoulder to just below her ear in PP.
Will see what I can do in some more PP Manglesphoto. She was a tour guide in the Gamble House. It was their spring open house and quite crowded. I could not move around as much as I would have liked. Thanks for the critique.

Beautiful hair. A little smile would have helped. A longer lens and larger aperture to help
blur the background. Nice shot.

Did not have a lot of time to just sit and observe her but the time I did have she displayed the same expression. Agree, should have used a lower f stop. Thank you for your comment Al.

What it it with people, they think they always have to alter reality. Leave the picture alone. It is what it is!
Thank you Dan. To answer you question I guess we are always trying to improve and the little things can make a big difference. But I can also go in your direction, it is what it is.
