Beautiful set, Tom and have somewhere read that some on our migratory warblers among other birds feed on the seed!

Thank you, Corky.

Oh tell me about those sweetgum balls, Tom. We have a backyard full of them from our neighbor's tree, but Carol is right. They do make great photo subjects, as you've shown here with your super shots!! And just think...all those little seeds inside will provide you with sweetgum trees for years to come!

LOL! Donna, the first little sprout I see pushing through the soil gets ripped out by its scrawny little roots to lie on the ground struggling for its last bit of breath until it can't survive to live another day. That goes to show you how much I love those things. LOL.
Thanks, Donna, for your expert opinion. It means a lot to me.
My son and grand daughter really liked the square shot. Son suggested getting it framed and hung. I might do that since he's in the printing business and can professionally print anything I need. I'll probably wind up giving it to my grand daughter (his daughter) and she can hang it in her room. She thought the pic was "pretty cool". Lovely young lady. She'll grow up to be a fine woman. She's 16 now and sweet as can be.

I literally have thousands of these in my trees and yard. They are my nemesis.
I've hated them for 34 yrs. When I had a white, long haired Maltese, she would always bring a few stuck, like Velcro, all up and down her paws. She walked funny getting back to the house. LOL
35mm Macro
Check out the DL's.

Nice set Tom.

I'm going to report you to the sweetgum society, Tom. Oh..and I think your son's suggestion to frame the square shot is a fantastic one, and I know your lovely granddaughter will cherish it!

Oh, that's just fine, Miss Dixiegirl. Did you know that those so inclined to use firewood don't want Gumtree wood? It's a real pain to split, doesn't want to go straight. Grain goes all over the place. Probably doesn't burn well either.
We'll see what that one member has to say. Bring him/her on.
LOL

Well, they do have pretty fall color, and our neighbor's sweetgum blew its top one year and grew another!! LOL

You see? They are out to get you. "You can't DESTROY ME, I'll just keep growing".

These don't look like any gumballs I've ever seen! Love the first capture!
